Cloudy stain on empty tank...

I just dug out a 50 gallon tank from the attic and its got a cloudy residue or something staining it. Not grainy or scratchy - smooth. Cant get it off. Has anyone seen glass become cloudy before?

if that doesn't work try using a light vinegar and water solution that worked for me
