cloudy water do to new live rock.

i put in a live rock yesterday, and alot of debris fell off of it. now my water has been cloudy for a day and a half. is this normal? or is the live rock poluting my tank? this didnt happen with my other live rock

i have always every time i bought live rock rinsed it off before putting in tank to get rid of any stuff that may be sitting on it as for the cloudiness most likely from the rock and you putting in tank stirring tings up

if you added lr and your tank got cloudy it is probably die off from the rock. did you mail order? any die off will cause ammonia and this causes a bloom or cloud. if your tank is already cycled it is a good idea to cycle any new lr in a seperate container
