Cloudy Water

Alright I tried doing a search.. but the page just went right to white all 5 times I tried it... so you get a new thread haha
every couple months or so I seem to get cloudy water in my tank. its not after I do anything, or after a water change or anything. it only seems to last for 48 hours or so. the corals dont seem to want to open up as big during this time, and sometimes dont open up at all. my fish are perfectly fine and actually come out to play more it seems haha inverts also seem fine. has anyone else gotten this cloudy water situation? only thing thats not "normal" is my 770ppm for calcium and .25 for ammonia... (yes I know 770ppm is high
)

If your calcium was really that high, it should be precipitating out which may be what the cloudyness is about. Are you dosing calcium? The ammonia seems like something has dies-could be a sympton of the cloudyness or a cause(?)

ya I thought it might be the calcium. yes i dosed it with calcium, and didn't have a test to check it first (I have the test now tho) which is bad and i didn't really think about it that much when I did. but i dosed it cuz my corals weren't opening up and the first thing I thought was "oh they must just need more calcium". only things that have died.... couple snails got flipped over and I didn't realize them till it was too late, and a galaxy coral.
thanks for the response tho!
