I just put in a DSB. How long should i expect before the water will get all cleared up. My fish and LR are all in tubs so I dont want them sitting in there for too long.

Depends on what type of filtration you have. If you are using a wet/dry then I would watch the filter floss after a few days it will be loaded with silt and start to get clogged. You may need to change it several times if you want. Cut your extra powerheads off and just go with your return pump. If you already have some type of bacteria bed going then it will clear a little quicker. No need to use a protien skimmer right now. Some say that carbon helps to clear it up, but I have not used it to help clear a sand cloudiness myself.
If heated and water movement is good your fish should do fine for days in there tubs. Might use an air stone for extra oxygen and water movement.
All in all it could start to clear in 3 days to a week before you could see in there again if you used dry sand. If it were livesand then it should clear up much faster.

What if i made a big water change? Would the new water clear things up? If this is just a ridiculous idea, take it easy on bashing me, haha

check your readings, usually when you add anything live there will be some trace of ammonia or nitrite or nitrate. I would do a water change. to lower some of the trace ammounts of ammonia or nitrate/nitrite
i used carbon and in 24 hrs later it was cleared up but this was before i cycled the tank

Thakr21 - There is no need for a big water change, save your salt unless there is another problem with nitrates or nitrites. It will settle and most everything in the sand even the silt will be good for the tank. Keep an eye on your temp area and your livestock take some readings in your temp tanks, buckets whatever you placed them in. Run the Carbon, and check your other filter medias for the cloudiness. Just wait it out.

I really hope this stuff clears up soon. My crabs and snails are in the tubs. I really hope they make it since they cost the most. I got my fish in a little 15 gal. 2 Percs, 2 Chromis, 1 scooter blenny, and a baby yellow tang. I feel so bad for them especially the yellow tang. They look so unhappy. I am actually losing sleep over this. I woke up about 10 times last night worrying about them. It is starting to clear a little. IF all my water conditions are fine would it be ok to put the fish in there? Also give me some more info on this carbon stuff.. Thank you all!!
