what kind of filtration? HOB's and canisters with mechanical and carbon filtration work well...
when i put up a new tank i put power filters on it and it clears up in about 8 hours...worked on both a 55 and 120

Put a piece of polyfilter pad in your hang on filter box
+1. That's what Joe told me to do and it cleared up real nice

i went ahead and got 2 new filter pads and some filterfloss... u think that'll be good enough?
should be, when you stir up the sand mechanical filtration is the way to go
the plain old walmart brand HOB's clear it up pretty fast.....the more floss the better

i filled the whole holding part with floss it seems to be working
the more mechanical the better....if you had 6 HOB's you would be good in an hour lol

yeah it will take some time but it will clear up fairly quickly.

Mike you sound like a politician. LOL its going to take time but it will happen quickly
LOL well it will it ownt clear up in a couple of hours or anything like that but it will clear fairly quick. LOL
I told a buddy of mine that had a simliar problem to add the HOB filter and it will clear up quick and he did an hour later I get a phone call saying that it still wasnt clear
so I changed my way of phrasing things like that LOL
Mike
the small stuff will eventually settle back down to the bottom or be sucked up to the filters. usually when this happens to me I turn the flow in the tank down alittle bit to aid in the small stuff to settle a bit also.
Mike
leave powerheads ON, just make sure is not pointing directly at Lr or sandbed.
Use carbon in HOB filter for cloudiness.
Use floss/filter-pad for the particles.
If that doesn't work in about 5-8hrs then test water and do a waterchange if neccessary.
