Clove Polyps

Can anyone give me some info on these? Placement, lighting, flow, care level? Are they like caring for zoas?

same as xenia imo. i hv some that grew out of control until i placed it with slower flow and less light. they r pretty tolerate as to placement and flow. they can grow very fast! almost as fast as xenia.

Care lavel: easy
Lighting: mine are half way up under 260 watts of pcs
Flow: mine are in medium and doing great.

Mine are like the weeds of all corals.

Little patches keep showing up all over. Worse than GSP I think! Slower flow will slow their spread a bit...........

Sorry late to reply. I have never shipped them, but they are a hardy coral, should be OK.

do cloves open and close like pulsing xenia or feather dusters? or are they open all the time?

Mine all just close down some at night, all day they just wave in the current.
A difference with xenia though is Cloves are more sensitive to higher nitrate levels. People say xenia at time thrive in them. I have never added xenia to my tanks. Too many critters having coral warfare now...

i have a frag of the neon green clove polyps and when i got them there was 2 and now a month and a half later i have like 10 or 12. they grow really fast, when i see a bud growing it is like 2 days before it is full grown.
