clown fish and enemones

hey all i was wondering if i get a clown fish do i need to get an anemone because i may not be able to get powerful lights?????

Other poster is correct that you do not need an ANEMONE for a clownfish.
But if you do get one then you will need to look into VHO, PC and or MH lighting. Normally the fixture and ballast is something you do once, but the light bulbs you buy every year.
You should plan on at least 4+ watts per gallon of lighting depending on size and depth of tank. Deeper tanks require MH lighting for it to penitrate the usable light to the bottom. This 4 watts per gallon is for the lower requireing anemones, it simply goes up from there. I have 940 watts over a 90 gallon VHO/MH combo, this will allow me clams if I so choose and even carpet anemones which require the most lighting.

Wow, that is a lot of light. I would be curious to see a picture of your tank. Any reason for all the light? What kind of stuff are you keeping?

Most anemones can live a while without high lighting but will die eventually the better the lights the longer they will live.
