Hi,
I just joined saltwaterfish.I was just wanting to know if a Tomato Clown and a Maroon Gold stripe Clown would get along together in the same tank.Because I have a maroon striped clown and he is mean to some of my other fish.
I even have a 210 gal tank and he still bothers them.I know they dont get along with some other clowns but I don't know which ones they are.I was thinking about getting a tomato one.So if anyone could help me out that would be great.
Thanks

they say that maroon clowns are some of the most aggressive of all the clowns, and that they dont really do well with other clowns, u may wanna look into getting rid of him, unless ur really attached to him, an getting a pair of perculas, ocellaris's, tomatoes, something like that, and in a tank that size, u could prolly even do a pair of tomatoes and a pair of ocellaris's, or, if your really lucky, you can do a pair of the tomatoes with the maroon, but keep a really really close eye on him though

Welcome to the boards!!! He is messing with other fish in a 210? Maroons can be aggressive, but they usually stay in the same place. Another pair would find a place far from the maroon. You certainly have the room. I wouldn't get a single clown, get a pair. Be sure that one is quite a bit larger than the other.

i have had my maroon for at least 6 or 7 years he is with a pair of perculas
he dont bother anyone.he is almost 5 inches compared to the 3 inch percs.
he also moves around most of my 150 gallon tank.
hit and miss .
i used to have a cinnimon clown that was very nasty.making a popping sound to scare the other fish.

Thanks for the suggestions.I think I'll just wait to get the tomato clown.Til our other tank cycles then.I don't want to take any chances.I like my maroon. But it would have been nice to put him in the tank.
So now I have to find a fish that will get along with him.Like a morish Idol or a NasoTang.

because they have an extremely poor survival rate in captivity, crimzy ordered 2 for his 450g, 1 survived, and now he has to get rid of it cause its picking on everything in his tank, including his rays

Leave the Morish Idol where it will live... the ocean! as far as the clown, you mentioned another tank, I will remove the marron, then add the tomato, wait a week then bring the marron back, are there anemones in the tank, if only one they may fight for it!
