CLOWN fishes CORAL AND ANEMONE A MUST?!?!

i just recently got a clown fish a last week.. it seems to always be laying on its side.. all ove rthe tank pushing sand left and right to make ditches.. the fish eats and seem heathly its just sometimes hes on his side.. does this fish need anemone to sleep or hang /host or something on it? if you guys have anything i should know i would be thankful i dont want fishes to die!

Clowns do not need a host anemone or coral to live.

It is not necessary, however whenever i have given anemones to my clowns, they alls eem to have 'perced' up...lol. What kind of clownfish are we talking about? Whata re your parameters? How big is your tank? I have a False Perc that will not host ANYTHING...sometimes tank bred clowns are totally clueless as to hosting...Do you have any pics? More infrom ation will help us to figure out whats up your fish...
