Clown Hosting LT Plate Coral?

i purchased a long tentical plate from my LFS for $65. it is freaking huge. when it is closed up it is about the size of a hockey puck and when it fully extends it is about the size of a dinner plate.
a little background on the plate:
-it was in my LFS for about 2 months without selling(because of its size).
-a maroon clown was hosting it in the store for both months it was there.
-been in my tank for about 2 weeks now with no problems.
now my question is, is it ok if my clownfish hosts the plate coral? he has taken alot of interest in the last few days and this morning i found him in the plates tenticles. should i expect damage to the coral? any help is apriciated.
TIA
- Joel

I had a maroon that hosted the plate and it stressed it out soo much that it killed it!!! It was huge like you are describing yours! I was soo mad that I was ready to flush the clown but my wife wouldn't let me! I ended up setting a new tank just for the clown and now I got the clown a mate!
Huh! He would of been HISTORY!!!
Well, sorry for my experience story but I'd rather tell you that to see these beautiful coral wasted!
Hopefully your coral is tough enough to withstand the clown but for what I've read, they are sensitive to this stuff.
Taki care and please keep us updated.
Ps. If you notice the plate not opening up like it is used to... REMOVE the clown. It took my plate about a week of not opening up completely then he started to waste away1 DeAtH........:,(

thank you for the information. if i get home from work today and the coral is closed up i will remove the clown. i have another 50g that i can put him in. but it is going to be sad to see him leave that tank. but i am willing to protect my $65 investment.
once again thank you for your help.

I've seen some that don't seem to mind but others get stressed from it, maybe try removing the clown for a month or two and letting the plate adjust, then try again.
