Clown Question

hey evryone, ok im goin to be starting my tank back up pretty soon and i was thinkin of gettin some clowns i was planning on cycling my tank then buying one clown. if i keep him in there by himself would he turn into a female? and if so how would tht take?

Over time.... yes, and just remember they don't go back the other way after. If you want to add a mate later you'll want to make sure it's a much smaller clown preferably from a group of clowns where it is not the dominant fish.

ok cus wht i was plannin on doin was buying another clown when i save up some more money to get some live rock should i still try an find a smaller one or can i jus get any size?

you'd still want to get a small one because the one you'll already have should be female by then and you want to make sure that she IS the dominant fish or you'll end up with two females... and no fish are not lesbians

lol funny but true...yea when clownfish are the only ones in the tank eventually they'll undergo a --- change and the females are bigger than males so u would want to fnd a fish that u r positive is not a female...or else u can't have a pair.
