Clown Trigger question...

Anyone have any luck keeping infant/small/pre-adult Clown Triggers in a community tank? Just curious as I visited that store in Lancaster recently and I'm wondering about the small CT's they had and if they'd get along with other fish until they were older?
I was told that they don't get their Hitler complex until they near adulthood? If true, how fast do they usually grow? I mean, are we talking a few weeks, a few months, a year, more? Or are we talking within 6 months they're full size and have the little mustache and everything?

Hey, I have had mixed results with baby clown triggers but for the most part they have been good.... A while back when my tank was fairly new, maybe 3-4 months i purchased a clown trigger and he seemed fine but he did not make it.... i have only had a few fish die due to unknown causes and he was one of them.... About a month or two later i got another one about the size of a quarter and have him in my 220 gallon with a blonde naso tang, stars and stripes puffer, foxface, kole tang, and yellow tang and he is just fine... he is the smallest fish in the tank tho.... he is now prob about 3 inches so he has grown about 2 inches in 8 months.... he is one fat fish tho, he loves pellets and would eat them until he burst if i gave him the oppurtunity... i feed him everything from algea sheets which he also loves to krill and silversides, to clam and squid and that sucker just doesnt grow that fast... i dont know if he hits a time where he will grow quicker but as for now hes still small and his temper isnt a problem at all... i have many tanks in my house for backup but no problems yet.... i have seen quite a few people have trouble with them though... i would reccoment a specimen of atleast 2-3 inches for your best chance of a healthy fish. His colors have really improved since i got him and his adult colors are now in full effect.. he did not have a ring by his mouth or black dots on top of him when i got him and within a few months he started his tranformation into a real pretty clown....

well its fish to fish. at my lfs they got two of them in one day. obviously they put them in different tanks and both of them had other fish in it. the first clown they put in just hung out and didn't really do anything to the other fish. he ate really well and was doing pretty well. the sizes of the fish were all larger with one being just a tad bit bigger.
the second clown goes in same type tank. fish all bigger however all of these were not tons bigger but none smaller than the other tank. within one hour he killed the 3 fish in there.
i myself am going to try that by getting a small little guy and try to raise him with bigger community fish and see what happens. i however know that (like i saw in the lfs) its a 50/50 chance i might lose some fish.
hopefully that helps.
