Clown Trigger with slight case of parasites?

I recently bought a small Clown Trig for my 55 gallon. He shares the tamk with a large Damsel. A couple of days ago small white spots appeared on his tailfin and one on his eye. There is no live rock in the tank and the only inverts are hermit crabs intended for him to munch on. I realize that the normal treatment would be hyposalinity, copper or Maracyn in a hospital tank, but my question is, do I treat him now or watch and see if he can recover on his own? The spots are very mild and he is eating good. Levels are: Ammonia 0, Nitrate 5, Salinity 1.021. What do you guys think? Thanks a lot!

Terry is right in the respect too often we rush to treat when if left alone the fish will fight a slight parasite problem off itself (I speak to this from experience having made that mistake more then I care to admit). The garlic seems to work for a lot of members here and is worth a try. Good luck and remember Patience is a must in this hobby (took me years to learn that one to).
