clown with popeye

I am setting up a QT to put my popeye fish in. It is a maroon clown.
I will be usig a produt called "fungus guard" by jungle labs.
How long should i leave the clown in qt after the popeye has healed...and how long will it take to heal?

Forget the fungus guard....worthless.
Why does the fish have popeye?
Use Maracyn Two for Saltwater Fish and be sure to do a water change just before each re-dose.

I am not sure why he has the popeye. It was perfectly normal at the store....the day after I acclimated him i noticed popeye.
not sure how or why but i want it gone.

well i got home and the popeye seems to be receeding. It is not as protruded as yesterday. Should i still treat with the maracyn two i just bought? Also can you tell me if this is a copper based medicine. I want to be able to use my tank that i QT with for a refugium when i am done.

If the problem is improving and the fish is acting normal otherwise, then leave the fish alone for now, but keep an eye on the situation.
Maracyn Two is an antibiotic. You should keep a QT up and running/available as long as you are going to have fish.

I will keep it up and running since i decided to get a 29 for my sumpfugium. Can i use the heater from the QT if i had medicated the wwater with the maracyn?

That would be fine. Just be sure to thoroghly clean it up before moving it to the sump.

Thanx beth. As far as i can tell the popeye is going down. Is this normal without treatment? looks like a bought the maracyn for nothing. oh well. I can use it in the future.
