clownfish death??

I had a pair of percs in my 55 reef for over a year. they never breed but the were always together and both hosted my colt coral. a few days ago the smaller clown died. the other one looks ok. they weren't eating well and I unfortunately caught it too late. What should I do the surviving clown looks lonely and confused(searching the tank for the other clown) I feel horrible about it. what should I do?? can I ever add a new clown? if I can how long should I wait?? any info would be appreciated

I had a pair for about a year, don't know what happend but one ended up on the floor, was too late when i found him. added another one about a week later, now there pals.
