Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone else has seen something like this. My 2 Percs are the only fish in my tank (so far) and they've been in there a week tomorrow. I'm feeding them once a day and I've been turning the powerheads off when I add the food.I've tried feeding them flakes and frozen brine shrimp. They seem to eat ok, but not much while the powerheads are off. They grab a bit of food, spit it back out, and grab some more. They do this both from the surface and for the stuff that floats down.
After about 5-10 minutes, I switch the powerheads back on, and they seem to go nuts trying to grab all the food as it goes zooming by. Is this normal behavior? They do seem to like to play in the power head stream and let it push them from one side off the tank to the other, especially the smaller of the two. They are fantastic fish, I just want to make sure they get enough food, since I don't feed very heavy (learned the hard way with a FW tank).
The only other things in the tank are assorted hermits, snails, a mushroom coral (free with the live rock), some Anthelia Polys and a Perpermint Shrimp that will take flakes right from my fingers.
Thanks,
Dew
