one of my two clownfish(the smaller of the two) has a discolored stripe. sorta looks like a bruse on the middle one. they both eat really good. they both had a mouth infection of some sort, but they have fought it off sicne i started varying their diet A LOT more. is it just going to go away with time? i will post some pictures up if i can get any good ones. thanks in advance.

Unless its an actual infection, it could be an imbalance in the diet creating discoloration in the scales. Since youre varying up the diet, Im willing to bet its an infection, but we wont know for sure unless we see pictures.
Is it on both sides of the clown or just one?

thanks man. really encourages me. and im glad yours survived ich. i think if a fish survives ich the first time around without any meds, he will be super healthy. its a good little saying, since my brother had a big ich outbreak, and all his fish fought it off just with good, hefty feedings and never got sick again.

I read somewhere the colors fade as they age. Maybe they ment the black can cover the white bars?> Not sure. I looked more but couldnt find info.
