Clownfish shaking tail?

Why does my clownfish swim around in the tank and swish his tail in the sand so often?

Any fish near him? They usually do it for "show who da boss" pusposes.

He does it around fish and when fish aren't around. Someone told me that its wanting to mate, but I've had it all by itself for 6 months and didn't know if i should add another one

What species of clownfish is it ? This is common for some clowns to do that .

ours swoops down into the sandbed and does that

I have two false clowns. I just saw the female swoops down into the sandbed and shake its tail in it tonight for the first i notice. They are a mated pair but never have had eggs yet. I dont know about the sand thing means

my maroon clown does that as well. but its around the LTA. i always thought he was making room for the LTA when its in full bloom
