OK I have a 29g tank with about 30 lbs of LR, some corals, 2 clowns, a fox face, and a blue/green chromie. Tank is about 7 months old. All the fish have been in there for at least 5 months together. All of a sudden my wife noticed my clowns chasing the chromie all over, it appears they have been biting the chromie as he has discoloration marks all over his body. What the hell is going on? Any ideas?

When clowns become sexually mature sometimes they will get more agressive and very territorial. I think they are trying to tell you something, like the tank is too small for them to coexsist peacefully together. If I were you I'd consider removing the chromis which do better when kept in multiples as they are schooling fish. Anyway that is my humble opinion.

The Clown and Chromie are both in the Damsel family and The Clown will bully other Damsels. I have both in my tank and the clowns do chase the chromies from time to time..i Have a 65 reef so i dont believe it to be a space thing IMO..

I keep 2 chromis in a 50 w/ a spawning pair of clowns, they never seem to mind the chromis, they chase the wrasse occasionally when it get too close.
