I think that my tomato clowns are starting to spawn. the female is fanning the crushed coral on the bottom of the tank and the male is dipping down into the holes after she comes out of them. is this part of the spawning process? What do the eggs look like? and are they going to be more aggressive towards their tank mates?

The eggs will be an orange-pinkish color for tomatos. They are normally laid in a crude circular pattern. The female will lay a couple of rows (you will see a small white tube protruding that she uses to lay the eggs). The male will then swim over them and fertile. The row pattern will continue until the female finishing laying the eggs and you will see them check the eggs with their mouths to make certain the eggs are attached. Just because she is fanning the bottom of the tank does not mean they are necessarily preparing a clutch site. Normally the eggs are laid in the vicinity of where the clowns host.
