I added a tomato clown pair that has been in my tank for about 3 weeks together. Yesterday i added a sebae anemone. THe larger female clown hosts it but the male doesnt. The problem is that ever since i added the anemone the female would try to nip the male. Any reasons why she is doing this now?
thanks

nothign to worry about. She's just showing her dominance.. My true perc pair has been doing that for a full month with my RBTA added. But she eventually lets him in at night... then back to the normal routine during the day lol.

haha interesting. well thanks ill see how things go. i was just curious.
You dont think she will kill him?
It's always a possibility. More than likely, though, if she stresses him out too much he will just find somewhere else in the tank to rest away from her.
But like I said, mine have been doin that everyday for a month, and its the second most entertaining thing in my tank lol. From what I recall he will look like he is completely spazzing out sometimes too, that's also normal. It's their submission statement, sorta like a dog rolling over on its back and tucking its tail.
(the most being watching my flame angel do his jaws impression behind the rockwark!!! haha)

My female made my male sleep in the sand for about 6 weeks. I actually added two anemones at the same time, she wouldn't let him in either. In the middle of the night she'd swim out of one and kick his butt back to the sand. Eventually she let him onto the outer fringe of the nem, then finally all the way in. I've seen it a million times in other peoples tanks, had it happen to me, etc. Nothing to worry about. Your male will win her over again, don't worry.

My anemone has split 4 times now (so now 5 of them in the tank) and the female still trys to work all 5. She can't keep up though, so the male gets in there at some point.
Thank God that the female/male role is not indicative of humans...

I have a GREAT wife, but could you imagine if we were Clown Fish? In human terms, it would be classified as an abusive situation...

As far as the couch deal, hell no...not in my house. I don't condone coming home trashed, but it's 50/50 around here and I ain't sleeping on no couch...

Haha. The world would be a much different place if humans followed the customs that some animals do.
LOL .. well she is my best friend, BUT, if I had to live with her day in and day out, I'd come home trashed quite often as well. Hell, I'd be a full blown alcoholic. I would never banish my husband to the couch.
