Clowns mating?

I have had my two false perc clowns for about 4 months now and they have gotten along fine and everything but I have not figured out witch is the male and witch is the female since they are still small and the same size. Yesterday I noticed one of them do like a little dance in front of the other one, almost look like he was having a seizure or something, does the male or the feamle do this and is it a mating dance thing? I am still unclear about this.

I have a single perc that swims like he has seizures when he sees himself in the glass, and only then. I just chalked it up to bizarre clown behavior, but it seems as though it could be a mating dance.

what is happening to you is the reason I have clowns in my tank they do that stuff all the time and if you have an anenome with them its even funner. my large female is the one that stays in the anenome most of the time when she takes off the male jumps in and then she chases him out then they do their dance and all is well

I have two percs that were the same size when I bought them. They started to do the seizure thing a lot. Mine do it in a T pattern. One fish in front of the other. They do this to figure out who is going to be male and female. That could explain why they do it when they see a relection in the glass. This is perfectly normal. You should start to see one of the percs get darker and larger. This will be the female.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the difference between a false perc and a percula clown. I've got a pair of something, but not sure which!?

I thought that was posturing to scare off other fish, like when a rattle snake makes the rattle sound etc.. ?

That question comes up a lot " difference between false and true percs". The false perc is a lighter orange color while the true is darker with black outlining their white stripes. The false percs are hardier too.
