just got a new clown i had 2 but 1 died so got him a new mate the boy at lfs said they might fight will they

I assume they are two of the same species. They will fight until one establishes dominance over the other - the dominant will become the female.

I think that it's not wise to have two clowns of the same species into the same tank. They are highly territorial

scott; you forgot to tell us what type clowns. Some will pair up others will fight till one is gone. Hope lfs didn't sell you a second of a variety that does not like company in its tank. Tell us a little more!

I have a Clarkii Clown wanted to add another clown (maroon) or something else what would go with this one?

From what i have read Maroon Clowns are the biggest and baddest of the lot. Can any other clown's be kept with a maroon?

I had a large Clarkii and was able to add a small Clarkii, they paired up. It will all depend on the types of fish and how big your tank is.

My experience has been that Maroon clowns will not tolerate any other species of clowns in the same tank; unless it is a really big tank around 150g or more. They are extremely aggresive, even with their own kind. They will kill other clowns in their territory.
