Clowns!!!!

What is the number of clowns you can put in a 55 gal. CAn you put all clowns with some tangs and how many is good. Its a marine tank no live coral !

Well in any system if you put more than two clowns some fighting is going to erupt. Two of the fish will become a mated pair, and they will start fighting with the other males.

do you want to only have clowns and tangs? if you even go for a tang, i would only suggest one. They need alot of swimming room. a 55 gallon IMO will nbot provide enough room for these fish. They are also very prone to ick, and the lack of room can contribute to that due to stress.

I agree with aarone ... I would stick with 2 clowns. As for the tang, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. Besides the space debate that will probably never end, I personally opted to go with a yellow tang in my 55. It did not live. I did everything possible to make sure it was healthy, but it did not make it. However, I know that there ARE successful people w/ tangs in 55's. Anyway ... there are tons of really cool fish that could go into a 55 that would make a great mix! Just keep lookin and researchin. HTH

I have a 55 gallon tank with a yellow tang and coral beauty.
All is well in this home!
Everyone has a different opinion on the size tanks the tangs like.
