This is for a talk I will be giving at our local club.
I am in need of some stories with pictures of things that have happen to your tank. I know that it's sad at times but we can all learn from each other.
This is what I found today at work.

If you would like to email me your story and pics please send it to grnbta@earthlink.net or send me a pm.
Thanks,
Slim

Well I don't really have a picture to back it up, but when I first set the filter on my tank up, the skimmer wasn't generating anything because the water was just a little too low. I spent a couple hours fiddling with it and then gave up becuase It was getting late. The skimmer started working in the middle of the night and unfortunately I had left the overflow tube directly over the power strip that was running all the EQ for the fishtank. THis was before I got the GFCI set up, so the strip Heated up pretty bad before the breaker in the electric panel tripped. It took me close to 45 minutes with a screwdriver and some needlenose pliers to pry all the plugs out of the disfigured power-strip.
This was something that was completely in my control and I still almost burned the house down. Get the GFCI's they are expensive, but well worth the money.

I don't have any pics, but I bought a Remora Pro skimmer and didn't tighten the hose clamp up tight enough from the pump to the skimmer. I woke up one morning and heard a loud noise coming from my living room and discovered that the pump had come loose and dropped down about 2 or 3 inches and was sitting on top of my LR shooting water up on the underside of my Tek lights and all over my hardwood floor. By gauging how much water I had to add back to the tank after the clean up I estimate that I lost about 15 gallons before I discovered what was going on. To make sure this doesn't happen again, I have since tightened the clamp as tight as I could get it and also wedged another piece of LR under the pump so that even if it would come loose it couldn't drop down and disconnect itself from the skimmer.
