I had some co
eb looking clearish/white stringy stuff in my tank yesterday, which i syphoned out. was wondering if anyone has seen this before and what it is and if i should be worried. also, since changing to flourescent compact lights, i've been having alot more slime algea growth. i have a dozen or so hermits and 2 turbo's, but i am concerned with them eating my coralline algea too. don't want that. plus i have a two day move coming this summer. my tank is 30 gals, and has been up for a year, i have about 20 pds live rock and two Emperor 280 filters. i want everything to live during the move, but the temperature and lighting won't be stable - and filtration will be non-existant. should i put my bio-wheels on ice? help!!!!!!!!!!!

The more light you add to your tank will cause more algea, good and bad. Just make sure your water conditions are all in check, and use ro water if possible.
