Coldwater Tank?

I have done many many reef setups and I wanted to try something a little different. My latest venture was a Pond refugium that turned out quite well...
This is what I want to try;
100-300 gallon coldwater aquarium for trout or another coldwater fish.
I wanted to see if anyone has tried this setup before...I will be uusing a large chiller and LARGE circulation pumps.
My biggest concerns are;
-substrate
-mortality
-legality of keeping certain fish
-supply of fish
Any and all ideas are much appreciated.

Well, trout and the such grow big - 100-300 I doubt will be enough for very long. I also know their preferences depend on the species. Trout for the most part like rocky bottom streams, large mouth bass like muddy lakes, and small mouth like streams.
Hmmm, coldwater tank. If I was to start a large coldwater tank - I'd love to keep a lobster (I'm wierd) :D
Good Luck - keep us updated on what you end up doing.

You can often find used lobster tanks on ---- with built in filtration and a chiller. Would be an ideal set-up for a cold tank. They usally do not go for high dollars. You might get lucky and find one near your location.
