Colt Coral and DT Phytoplancton....

I decided to start using DT Phytoplancton and picked some up on the way home... i read the directions and decided i would only put about 1/4 of the recommended dosage to see what it does... well.. about 2 hours after i added the phytoplancton, my colt coral buffed up and shriveled up... anyone see this? not sure if it cought a whole bunch of the Phytoplancton or it got an allergic reaction or my water has become unstable, but undetectable:
my readings today:
0(NH3/NH4)) Ammonia
5(NO3) Nitrate
440(Ca) Calcium
0(PO4) phosphate
0(NO2) Nitrite
8.1pH
1.023Salinity

anyone else had something like this happen?

I feed mine dt's all the time and he has never doen that before?? Thats kind of weird

mine does this occasionally but not as a feeding responce I havent figured out what triggers it but a few hours to a couple of days its back to normal.
when you added the dts did it the current carry it full strength into the colt?

it put the DT in my sump and my return jets are about two feet in distance from the colt, angled off the glass.

try smelling them to make sure they havent went bad they will have a very distinct smell if they did LOL
other that I really have no idea.

I directly feed mine with the littel dropper that comes in the test kits, I just stick it in the middle of him and let it loose, same for all the other coprals I feed dt's I feel they get more that way maybe dumb but I have a simple mind sometimes lol

I don't think it's the DT's either. I mix some with water and spot feed my corals with a turkey baster every Saturday. My colt has however done what yours is doing and it should come back out fine. They use zooanthellae and it may just be going through it's replenishment phase. HTH
