Colt coral

I recieved a colt coral last week and now the base it came on has broken. How can I reset it? Can these be glued or do I have to sew it to another rock? Secondly my zoos have come off of their base as well and are not doing well, how can I reattach them as well? They are clinging together by a brown sort of vein or root. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am an ignorant newb looking for the voice of experience for some guidance.

actually, your idea of sewing it onto another rock isn't bad. due to the sliminess and weak "skin/structure" of colts most typical coral attaching methods don't work. e.g. rubber banding, glueing, epoxy, etc.
the trick to colts is holding it in place without it oversliming (probiotic, suspectible to bacteria) or squeezing the coral too tight where it literally cuts itself into two or more pieces than what you began with.
placing it in-between two small chunks of rock rubber banded together is another option. just make sure the rock features allow for current to flow thru the wound area.
eventually the coral will attach to one or both pieces and then you can remove the rubber band. often i just let the band waste away as a time indicator but often you don't have to wait anywhere near that long. hth

Thank you both for the replys. And Cayman I remember seeing that thread about a month ago and forgot all about it till now, thanks a bunch. Both pieces still have a piece of base attached so I will try to use that to stablize and see what happens. Thanks again both of you.
