Colt Coral!!

how do u know when a colt coral is dead? does it change color or what? my colt will extend and get big but when i touch it , it gets realllly small.....its a frag but ya...i have tried to attach it multiple times and just cant seem to get it to stay....an when it extends it just like lays over to the side..is something wrong?

All corals will shrink up when touched. Place it between 2 rocks, or loosely wrap a rubber band around it and a rock. It will attach itself in afew days.

ok its not a colt ..its a pink soft coral as they call it on google...Scleronepthea, Neospongoides, Lemnalia

Can you post a picture? The corals you have listed are similar in appearance but have different requirements. I believe most species of scleronephthea are not photosynthetic while the other two are.

I have the same one.Mine does shrink and expand pretty good from the lighting.I think as long as its not mushy and falling apart it should be still alive.If it is new give it some time to adjust to the tank.Mine took about a week to start looking healthy.If you are trying to attach it to a rock do the rubber band trick it works pretty good.
