Colt Corral Question

I have a colt frag that I have had for about two weeks now, so far it has been doing great, but this morning I noticed one of its branches looks damaged almost like it has been cut. Its visibly different from the other branches in color and texture now. Also the colt is laying over like its in shock. Im thinking that I need to remove the damaged piece but not sure about how to do it correctly. Will removing the damaged piece hurt the rest of the colt? I need some help here guys, Im pretty new to saltwater fish and corrals. I have xenia, feather dusters, zoos in the tank also, all them are doing great. For fish I have a tang and SFE. The usual clean up crew also.
Thanks for any assistance.

this had happened to mine, but it was because my clarkii kept swiping against it, it eventually came back. It might just be irratated, it could be a coral that is close to it also that is irratating it. And do you have water movement on it?

It is by itself in the tank. My tank is fairly new and not a lot of corral in it yet. My tang gets close to it but then moves away without messing with it.
I have it placed high in the tank so it gets plenty of light and also has plenty of water flow. I have wondered if maybe it is getting to much flow... is that an issue?
