Hey everyone...just trying to re-establish myself on here (I was a regular on here a few years ago). I'm looking to set up a new aquarium (probably 30g or less) and I'm gonna need all the equipment to do so. What are the best fish stores in the Columbus area? I recently moved from the Dayton area and I don't know where to go.
And for you Dayton folk, is Gerber's still open to the public? I'm thinking about making a trip out there this weekend. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I honestly haven't been able to find a decent store that is reasonably priced. I think aquarium adventure on sawmill rd is about the biggest lfs around here but they are WAYYY overpriced. I've heard that the Jack's at Easton is good. Their is another one, I think around Grandview, that I've seen mentioned on here. Hopefully someone else from Columbus will see this.

Personally I think the Jack's at easton is your best bet. Aquarium Adventure is bigger, but as alyssia mentioned they are way overpriced and even though they're bigger it seems like Jack's has a better variety of fish.

Jacks at Easton is good but not that good. Gerbers sucks. The place is falling apart and everything is way over prices. Theres really no good store yet. Phishy Business is going to be opening a store at the end of April in Columbus. That should be the best lfs around once its opened.

Thanks everyone. I went to a few different places over the weekend and I really wasn't impressed with anything. It seems like EVERYONE is overpriced. The only place I have left to go is Jack's at Easton. Gerbers is awful now...a couple years ago it was way better and they didn't have know-nothing high school children working for them. A smug man at Aquarium Adventure tried to sell me a 30g w/lid for almost $130. "Plus undergravel filter and decorations" he said. I'm still waiting for someone who knows what they are talking about. If anyone has any used equipment (including LR) let me know. Starting over is definitely gonna be harder than I thought. Thanks again, guys.

When I went to Byerly's I wasn't too impressed. Its pretty much your basic fish store with high prices.

Thanks for the heads-up on the new store coming to Columbus. I agree....Aquarium adventure is a nice store but pricey. They are knowledgable which is a plus. I've never made it to Byerlys. I heard they are cheaper than AA. I get jealous reading some of the comments on this site because some of you have access to some reasonably priced stores. I live between Columbus/Lima/Findlay...but work in Columbus. There is really nowhere in the Lima/Findlay area that carries alot of saltwater items....if anyone knows of any good ones let me know.
