i know this man said he was poor, but it does not mean he is a bum. i feel as though i am poor and i chose to spend my money on the things that are most important to me. what did he use to write on this forum, a computer and how did he afford that, i am a noob and i feel some people are on here are very judgemental.
this is an expensive hobby but the running and setup costs of a 10 gallon would be on the cheaper scale for SW tanks. remember that the smaller that tank the less stable they are when changes happen and so it will also take away alot of ur time to make sure that everything is going smoothly.
if you really want this tank, take ur time and save some money, it may take u 6-12 months to get there but if u don't do it right then don't do it because u will waste ur money, time and put the inhabitnats lives at risk
hardasaroc are u asking wat equipment u need?
if so you will need lights, a filter of somesort, maybe a protien skimmer(but i don't now heeps bout nano tanks), live rock, live sand.
these things are expensive but i live in australia and don't know the real cost of these item for u so look them up on this site.
then just start saving.
all the best.

I always wanted a saltwater tank. I couldn't afford it when I was younger I had a 10 gallon walmart setup. Now I am older (22) and I have some extra money I can spend on this hobby.

yea while you may not have the money, doesn't mean you should "bum." if the boy doesn't have much money we shouldn't really criticize him for *asking*begging*bumming* or whatever you choose to call it, we should give him ideas on how to get the money. like working hard for it (i.e. mowing lawns, washing cars, cleaning houses, babysitting, etc which is exactly how i get stuff for my tank) its no different from a rich couple getting a tank than a poor boy *both had to work hard for their money to buy the tank* whether or not the rich parents give their kids all the money for they tank is another story. i guess i have made this post long and confusing enough...hope this offers a different view on this subject. and oh yea i am gonna post this in the other thread hoping he will see it to let him know that some people do understand and that there are other ways to get stuff, and by working hard for it you are going to have a much better appreciation for it than if it was just handed *or shipped* to you for free.
