Comming along nicely

I just added 20 lbs of live rock to my cycling tank yesterday along with 6 blueleg crabs. I also added a power head for a bit more circulation.
Now all I need is a test kit and lights.
This is my question.
I dont have alot of money and my LFS which I trust told me get a glass top (which I will) girlfriends father works at a glass shop and can make anything I want :) They told me to use 2 50/50 in the current hoods I have and get a 48" blue light. Turn blue light on for 1 hour in morning then turn on the 50/50 for 8 hours then blue light again for a total of 10 hours.
Is this good advice??
I want coraline algae and some low light corals eventually along with some fish and a good cleanup crew. thanks for the input.

IMO Yes very good advice. The blue light represent sunrise and sunset for the fish, while the 50/50 will be daylight for them. Sounds like a good lfs to me.

if you are getting the actinic, you do not need the 50/50s, i would just get some intense daylights(10000 or 20000k's) for the day light and i would set a timer for the actinics to come on 1 hr before the daylights adn then go aff one lhour after the daylights

Above advice is pretty good. I have 2 Marine-Glo Actinics turn on 1 hour before my 2 Power-Glo (18000k) turn on....then reverse order at night. Seems to be working well for me
