Company sent me wrong Skimmer. Can an In-Sump be used as a HOB skimmer?

The company sent me the wrong skimmer. Its an In-Sump one. PSK75 ESHOPPS to be exact. I was wondering if you guys think that I could use it as a HOB somehow or should I send it back?? I dont have a skimmer in my DT, and just put 2 clowns from the QT in last night...
Did you order the same one but the HOB model?? The pics online look simular but IDK if you can make the adjustments to make an in-sump skimmer a HOB. I would just send it back if it were me. Why take the time and expense to make up for their mistake. If you were willing to take the time why not just get an overflow and make a sump for the in-sump skimmer. Almost (not really. LOL but sumps are cool) the same amount of work. Hope you get it all sorted out.
