I've always had to copy and past it to my personal email to send a message as well. I've always hated that because you have to watch out for spam. I would like to know the real answer to this as well if there is one.

Don't do much Craigslist, but is there a Settings page for your account? Some web sites that have a email option default to whatever email program is installed on your computer. So if you have Outlook Express loaded on your computer, but you've never configured it to use your email account, then it'll give you an error stating it can't email the message. There also may be a setting where you enter your email information (Email Host address (POP3 or SMTP, account name, password).

Pretty sure you need to be logged in to craigslist to answer an ad. Also, like Bionic stated, when you click the link to email someone it will try to create that email using the default email program on your PC. Usually that is either Outlook or Outlook Express. If you dont use those and use an internet based email account like gmail or hotmail the computer will not know what to do when you click that link and will give you an error.

Hey ya jeff,
if it doesn't right click to copy and paste, try the hot keys in case you didn't try already.
first highlight the email address then
ctrl key plus c for copy and ctrl key plus v for paste.
Hopefully it helped ya.
I was computer science minor in college so if you need any help, let me know.
Richard.
