i am trying to upload pics from the camera card.it wont automaticly go .how do i make it work? i put the card in and nothing.sometimes it works but not now.its a new computer a dell what a pos this thing is.

Have you tried hooking the camera directly to your PC via USB?

OK, are you sure that whatever type of card your camera has is compatible with the card reader in your PC? There are a ton of different types of memory for cameras... SD, miniSD, Compact Flash 1, Compact Flash 2, MMc, Smart Media, Sony Memory Stick, xD....
Thats why its pretty much always easier to just hook your camera directly to your PC with a $5 USB cable...

Realistically that is possible. Another option is that the driver isn't loaded for the card reader. Assuming it just isn't the wrong card.

the card has worked before but sometimes i had to restart the computer to get it to work it didnt work this time

I don't know how old your computer is...but we used to call it plug and pray when we ran XP....it did that with every new gadget, sometomes it worked and sometimes it didn't. Another thing could be the port itself is no good, and sometimes it reads the connection and other times not.
