i have made slideshows in the past, and for my daughters 18th birthday i want to make one for her "growing up"
the slide show part i can do no problem, but is there any way i could add a video clip from school plays and things like that from both 8mm & vhs? i still have an 8mm camera, but dont have the vhs camera anymore. what would i have to get to have this stuff transferred into my computer so that i could add it to the slide show?
thanks

If you go to either best buy or circuit city, they have analog a/v to digital converters. Which will allow you to connect them to your computer. You're than just need the software to do it.
Wow... I answered an IT question!

It looks like a little USB hub. You plug in the audio and video lines from your camcorder into it. Than it has a line that goes out to your computer.

ok, i get ya on that, but the problem i have is that i have both vhs & 8mm tapes. and only an 8mm camera. will a vcr plug into it? though even if it did it would be a little difficult, i would need a 100' cable:rolleyes:

Your vcr has the same audio and video jacks to your tv. So if you take the vcr up to your computer, plug it into the wall, and plug those jacks into that unit... just like you would the 8mm camcorders jacks, hit play... it should work :) ...I think
