I have a FO tank and was considering getting a Conch snail. The local Asian market gets live Conch snails every week. Does anyone here have any experience with these critters? They come in around 6" long.

You can google "strombus" and go to Images.
At 6 inches for consumption.... my best guess would be Strombus Gigas or "Queen Conch".
I have a tiger conch myself and I like it. Mine splits its time both on top of the sand and burrowing in the sand.

Well I do not pretend to be a conch expert, but I have never heard of them eating fish.
If it doesn't work out, you can always fry it up
and then use the shell for a musical instrument.
