Condi eating plate coral

Yesterday after feeding my anemones I noticed the condi was detaching from his rock. A few minutes later he was on top of the plate coral with tentacles right on top of the plate. I got him off and tried to put him back in his spot but he wouldn't have anything to dowith it. He wanted to move and he wanted the plate coral. I finally got him to settle back into his spot but when I got home from work today he was back on top of the plate. I really looked like he was attacking or trying to eat the plate.
Has anyone had this problem and how to deal with it?

I moved the plate to a different area of the tank and he found it within a minute. He didn't go after anything else just the plate. I have moved the condi out of the tank temporarily. Maybe he'll calm down.

If that continues to happen and you are moving the pate to a few different locations, try covering the plate coral with something to protect it from the condi - but still allowing light and flow to travel to the plate.
