Connecting live rock

I was wondering what techniques you would use when stacking live rock to keep it more stable. I was thinking about using either a binder or cement of some kind, or a dowel. If you use a cement or binder what kind would be used? If using a dowel what kind of dowel? Made from pvc? nylon? I was thinking to maybe use both. Anyone have any experience with this? I would like to get some ideas. Any pictures or past threads would be great.
Thanks for the help in advance!!!

If you are joining them beyond just stacking, use acrylic rod.
Availabe from any plastic shop. Invisible, non-porous, and non-perm.

What kind of epoxy would you use?
The 2part epoxy that comes in a tube shape where the outside is one part and the inside is the other. You break off a pc. and knead it to mix it together. 2 little fishies aquastik.

I am going to butt in here...epoxy will not hold rock stable enough. It will come right apart unless you use so much it is ridicules.
it takes some time and the hands get a little sore, but gently twist the rocks together...they will lock.
I have 2 caves and my rock is going nowhere. I attached some pictures so you can see that it just looks balanced, but they are very well locked.
Excuse how dark the pictures, I took these just now with only actinic on...My MH lights won't kick on again until 4:00 but you can see the rock pretty clear.

I think epoxy in concert with the rods is what the OP is thinking though.

Even with rods...unless the OP takes the rock out of the water...gets it dry and adds a huge, and I mean huge amount like the size of a big mans fist, and lets it cure for 24 hours it will not hold. I know this because I tried it...I wanted a big cave..I am now happy with two good sized ones.
You can use dead rock and rods, for my freshwater tank years ago I made such a thing.
