If you really don't care anymore the best thing to do is to get out.
Maybe you'll have a change of heart down the road, or maybe not.

dry out your rock, clean up the tank, and sell off your livestock.
when you want to get back in, at least you will have the most expensive stuff.

My wife crashed my tank and haven't had one in six months or so. At first it is a bit of a relief. But I miss it terribly and in construction mode now. I would give it some good hard thought. We are addicts in the end.....

I've had the same feeling, alix.
But everytime I have that feeling,
I completely change the tank, get a new tank, new fish, coral, or SOMEthing new to look at, research, experiment with. Even playing with the aquascape can settle me down for a month or 3..
Try getting a nano tank.
I've always wanted an 8 Gallon BioCube, and I definitely want a 20 gallon Long.
I think those two nanos could be pretty fun to play with.
Just a thought.

I've had FW aquariums since 1986, as a senior in HS. I just jumped into SW 3 years ago, January. I have lost more fish and spent FAR more money in the last 3 years than the first 17 in FW. I have 9 FW and 2 SW tanks running. I choked on a $10 FW fish and don't bat an eyelash at a $30 SW fish. The point is I love what we do. I am not into tank glamour contests. I want to give my animals the best home I can and enjoy the little bit of the wild I can bring home. Step back and even scale back, but before dumping everything, take a breather. In a little while a new fish will catch your eye and you'll have the fever again. And, unless your independently wealthy, it'll take a long time and alot of money to get back where you are.
