convert mech filter?

i'm thinking about converting my mechanical (old hardware, not in use) filter cannister into a CO2 reaction chamber for my next tank. any ideas pros/cons? <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />

Why would you want a c02 reaction chamber?
Do you mean an 02 chamber? If so, an 02 reactor would just add more oxygen to your water.

<img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" /> my bad! allow me to correct myself. converting it into a calcium reaction chamber. it's already here and it would be a cost savings of $100-200. all i would need to get would be the co2 tank and regulators. <img src="graemlins//silly.gif" border="0" alt="[silly]" />
