i just added about 50 lbs of LR to my tank.(in addition to the 30 lbs in there) these came off of them and im hoping its not serious
Copepods hopefully?

yes thats exactly what they look liike...but near them is like a black thing that kinda looks like a common house fly but just smaller.... any ideas? i was hoping copepods bc if it isnt i wana get it taken care of.... o well i guess if its not good it will get killed off during the cycle.. hopefully

yeah, I had some floating on top of my water about two months ago and everything is fine in my tank. I didn't notice any black flies but I did wake up one morning and had what looked like white fruit flies skating around the water on the top of my tank. Come to think of it, I had just bought new LR also. I didn't make that connection before.

Please do not take my comment as a joke...I really think they are actually roach egg casings...I found them a couple of times in the sump under my tank in the garage...I just happen to bring it up to my Terminex guy one day while he was servicing my house and that's what he told me....
The roaches like to lay their eggs on the underside of wood (the underside of the tank) and when they hatch...the casings just drop into the sump...

i ordered a featherduster and a bunch of those things were with it. A few of them got into my tank and I noticed them floating at the top of my tank on top of the water. I have noticed there are several clear featherdusters on my live rock now. Dont know if these were baby featherdusters or not, just a guess.
