Copepods: sign of a good tank?

I have a mini reef that has a bunch of them after two weeks of setup, and a 43 gallon fowlr (niger and huma trigger) that finally has some. Does that mean things are going good?

Yes, definately. Copepods and amphipods are inverts, and they are more sensitive to bad water conditions than fish. But I'm not saying to go fully stock your two week old tank. Take it slow, and you'll be fine.

my mini reef is actually a tank i had up, then took down to re-aquascape so i think it was already cycled. It was only down for about ten minutes. Im just surprised with the copepod #'s already. As far as fish, all i have in there is a maroon clown, and thats all i plan to keep in there.
I just wonder how accurate the assumpion is. Do copepods always equal good conditions?

Yes-copepods are definietly a good sign. I have a fish only tank and some of the copepods must have caught a ride on my new powder blue. They clean all my algae in my tank. It's a godsend!

Sammy's right..... My bad. <img src="graemlins//uhuh.gif" border="0" alt="[U-Huh]" /> I never thought about that part of it. Thank goodness for sharks. No wonder they're at the top of the food chain ;)
Sorry for any confusion caused by my ignorance.
