Do Copepods need to be in a certain deg. temp to survive ? I have noticed a few in the Q tank and aint sure if they will die under 70 deg temp

sometimes it just matters when people are on etc, give it some time) But as to your question yes they need to be kept at a decent temp. I do not know what temp will kill them but they are pretty strong little dudes. mabye someone with more experience can give you better info)

I really don't know and was actually having the conversation about this issue last night......I would assume that since they are mostly in tropical enviornments that the temp has to be as well. Maybe someone who knows a lot more than me will come along and clarify this :)

Reason I ask is because I bought a 39 G tank with 50 lbs of live rock from this guy last week. It came with a mandarin and he told me every month to switch a piece of the rock at the bottom 10 g tank which i'm still assuming is the tank that eats all the bacteria it has a few pieces in there and I did a little rersearch on these bug creatures and came to conclusion that there copepods. I also noticed some in the main tank just yesterday. I don't have the lights on the bottom tank on but my room temp is usually between 70- 74 deg?

Most people will say that the mandarin will die. They are really hard to keep since they only eat pods. Unless it is a established tank and you have a really good population. Dont know bout the temp but as long as you see them in there and they are not dying i imagine it is ok, but do not know if temp plays a role in how fast they reproduce etc etc.. might be better to keep them around 80.

It's really weird I didn't understand this guy heres a pic of what I'm about to say. I think correct me if I'm wrong that in the pics this is a Choc. Starfish
how can you have it if it eats your coral. That with the madarin which as we speak now can't survive under the conditions I have it as and a maroon clown which is territorial to the fullest. I don't get how he had these three things in his tank?
