I read that you could put a dish scrubber thing in your tank cover it with small rocks so fish cant get into it an that would help your copepod population because it would give them a safe place to breed. Would this work?

i wouldnt put anything like that in in my tank... you dont know what kind of chemicals those sponges can leach into your system. Copepods breed in live rock rubble, the small crevices of the rubble protect them from other fish. My advice break up a piece of your live rock and put it in the back of your tank, or buy some rubble.

Yeah...you can do that. I would just boil it for about 10 minutes first just to make sure it is completely sanitary. Not sure how many people touch those things before they are put in the plastic!

You can also create a small rubble pile they will live and grow in. Break a rock into small pcs. and create a pile some where in the back of the tank. A drop or two of phyto in the water a few time a week will help them to grow.
