copper treatments

I am treating my 30 gallon with copper. When I am done treating it what do I do? Do I do a 20% water change or more? I would like to make this my hospital tank how do I maintain the copper. Thanks

Yes the fish have ick. I had two triggers and a porc. puffer. The puffer started it and then died 4 weeks later along with a clown trigger, the only one left is a piccaso trigger he looks pretty good but still is scatching on the rocks a bit.
