I'm not a pharmacist to be able to say "why something doesn't work" but I can say that years of trail and error for the fish industry, and even the hobby, it has evolved that we understand that some treatments work better than others for different things. Just like some medications work better for some human ailments, while another type works better for other things.
Ich and brooklynella are two different parasites, so they respond differently to treatment. There was a time, long ago, when copper was the catch all treatment for everything. Not so anymore.
