Success! No longer will i have to embark on the monthly ritual of using joes juice to fight the dreaded aptasia.
The CBB is doing awesome, almost all of the reachable aptasia is gone. I watched him pick those suckers right out with his "snout" of a mouth over the last few weeks. I have plenty of aptasia in my fuge, and in my "sump" to ensure they continue to grow as a food supply for him. And as well, there is still a lot of apt on the inside of a rock structure that the damsels wont let him go to. In addition, he has taken very well to mysis shrimp, even eats a bit of the Optimum H2O flake food, and nibbles on the seaweed roll I attach to a rubberband for the tang.
The peppermint shrimps...I never saw them eat any of the apt, even at night with a flashlight. They have been just eating during feeding time. I do think they must have eaten a little of the apt, since there are a couple apt I knew of that I cant see the CBB getting to, and it happens to be where the 5 PS have made their home.
All in all, great job on the apt. I am very pleased.

Thats good to hear. You do not have any corals do you?

yes, plenty of coral, but no nipping as of yet. It doesnt seem interested in any of the gorgonians, polyps or other similar types as you would think.
I don't know how realistic the threat caused by CBB's are. In my conversations with other keepers, and the LFS, no one seems to have a problem with them. I think as long as you keep them well fed, they seem to be ok.

I had a CBB in a reef also the only coral they WILL deystroy is tube worms or feather dusters as they like to "pick" the worms out of their tubes. I have never heard anyone else complain about a CBB hurting any other corals eaither.
